Evangelism - Starting with Who You Know
Brian Van Zante - Tabitha 2nd Floor Lounge
Brian Van Zante - Tabitha 2nd Floor Lounge
These days it feels like the most difficult form of evangelism is sharing Christ with the people we regularly see! Yet Acts says that God has placed each person in specific times and places SO THAT he won't be far from anyone. One of the ways this is true is believers being in close proximity to non-believers. So how does a Christian go about having the vision, tools, faith, and courage to evangelistically move towards roommates, classmates, friends, & family? Join Brian to hear some ideas!
Brian has worked for the Navs for almost 30 years, ministering to on campuses in Texas, Wisconsin, and as a missionary to Japan for 12 years. He loves people, books, triathalon-ing, and helping college students know Christ and make Him known.

Dangerous Prayers
Trevor and Cassie Long - Tabernacle
Trevor and Cassie Long - Tabernacle
If the all-powerful Creator of the universe invites us to ask of Him and promises to answer, then why do our prayers often sound so small and safe? Bless our time together… Please help me get a good grade… Please help me be less stressed… etc.
These prayers aren’t bad, but what might happen if we began to pray dangerous prayers? What if we started asking specifically so we would know when God answered? What if we began asking sacrificially in ways that put our comfort and security at risk? What if we started asking for impossible things that could not happen apart from a move of God? What if we began to ask for eternal things that change the course of people’s lives?
If you are longing to see more of God’s glory, power, and goodness displayed in your life and on your campus, then join us for a beautiful experience of dangerous prayers.
Trevor serves as the director of the Upper Midwest Region of The Navigators. His wife, Cassie, works alongside him in staff care and development. They live with their four amazing kids in a northwest suburb of the Twin Cities. Trevor and Cassie have dedicated their lives to pointing students to Jesus and raising up generations of disciple-makers; first in Europe, then in Minnesota, and now in the upper Midwest.

"Stay on Target": Embracing God's Heart for the Nations
Sawyer Caldwell - Tabernacle Blue Room
Sawyer Caldwell - Tabernacle Blue Room
The X-Wing Fighter raced through the trench on the surface of the Death Star. Its pilot, Luke Skywalker—dodging blasts from defense turrets, watching his squadron explode around him, and evading the terrifying Darth Vader—gripped the control stick with slick hands. His one objective: to launch a proton torpedo through a tiny exhaust port, a direct hit to which would ignite a chain reaction that would blow up the battle station. The words of his commander, the ill-fated Red Leader, rang in his ears: Stay on target.
The church today (and probably for the past 2000 years) has struggled to stay on target. Impotent theology, church squabbles, mistaken objectives, and the love of the world have reared their ugly heads time and again—Satan’s tactics in a doomed bid to thwart God’s master plan. From the front cover of the Bible to the back, God has unfolded a plan to unite all things in Jesus (Eph. 1). His purpose was to reconcile to himself people from every people group on the earth (Rev. 5), so that his image (Gen. 1) would be spread over the whole world, his glory as the waters cover the sea (Hab. 2).
The fate of the Rebel Alliance rested completely on Luke’s ability to stay the course. The nascent Jedi switched off his targeting computer, used the Force, and dunked his missiles into the fragile heart of the Death Star. God has called you—if you are a Christian—to reject the way the world does things, to grow closer to him in a relationship of obedience and trust, and to participate in carrying the good news about Jesus to the nations. Attend this seminar to take your next step in embracing God’s global rescue mission!
Non-nerds welcome.
Sawyer Caldwell with his wife, Sarah, and their sons, Shiloh and Simeon—labor to make Jesus known on campus at South Dakota State University. It is the Caldwells’ passion to enjoy and exalt Jesus in every area of life, while making disciples wherever they go—disciples who will in turn make disciples wherever they go! Sawyer is a big fan of reading good books, smoking meat, and backpacking, but is not as big a Star Wars nerd as you may have reason to believe.
